In my opinion, the way PAX 2010 did it was nice. Playing as individual Pokemon when you spawn was enjoyable enough. Not only that, but the level you get didn't define the level of the Pokemon you had, it defined the experience of the player himself/herself, though you could change that function a bit by gaining levels depending on what you do in the game, not by just being idle doing nothing the whole time.
If making the model is a problem depending on the size, it would be understandable to just forget about accurate sizes. Plus, like Deltav mentioned, even large Pokemon like Wailord and Onix can be a pain to play as. If you'd ask me, it would be a good idea to make a size limit for all models so making them and even playing as them become much easier.
Also, I disagree with the possible removal of evolutions. It's kind of a major component of Pokemon.
Getting the next evolution in the select menu is basically the equivalent of evolution. Though I still see where you're going with that. It does seem odd that evolving a Pokemon won't be the same, but you need to reconsider the one trick people used to use in old PAX where they would be at low health and then they would just evolve and they would be at full health. Of course this is easily fixable, but it's odd to see a low evolution fighting in a big fight and all of a sudden they evolve midfight. You can't explain that in the actual Pokemon games.
Like i literally tripple checked it just to make sure and the only one wrong is you ~.3.~ fite me bruh
The only thing on that page regarding two of the same kind is saying that if you are making a mega that has two mega forms it is an exception from the 1 mega a week rule.
I guess I read that wrong, but seriously, there already is an accepted version of Mega Dunsparce, so there's zero point in posting this. If someone already has a Mega Evolution posted that you are wanting to post yourself, try sharing your ideas on the original one instead. That makes it easier to track everything here.
Oooh, I got it. Make a specific quest line for each Pokemon. It can give them backstory, and what not. Eventually, you'll get to a quest that unlocks the evolution. This goes on until the final evolution is unlocked. Once that is unlocked, that final evo qualifies for certain "hardmode" quests that unlock even more Pokemon.
I know that making a quest line for every single Pokemon may seem repetitive, but if it does seem like that, you could instead make certain kinds of quests that fall into certain categories of Pokemon, just to make it easier.
Err... Mike... you're wrong. http://pokemonarenax.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:12610
It specifically states that having more than one idea of the same Pokemon is not allowed.
I don't see the logic in only making Pokemon from generations 1 and 2 playable. It's a lot better to have more variety when it comes to a roster of playable Pokemon. Of course it will be understandable if some of the Pokemon don't have models yet, but that's still no reason to exclude the other generations. Not to mention that a lot of the CAMP Pokemon are from generations 3 - 6 either way, so it will need to have Pokemon from every generation.
Not sure why Mega Banette would be a problem and not any others, as well as any of them in general. If it were the case of Mega-Evolutions being in the menu, it would just be the same as any other regular Pokemon: just put the model in lighting and done. I don't see the issue here.
I was thinking that you could add it without legendaries for the time being and then you could add it later, assuming that a lot of people will start to play it, which would give you money for badges. Then you could add said badges in hidden areas that would take a lot of thought to find.
EDIT: Badges cost 100 robux each, so you shouldn't need to wait long at all.
Only one thing I don't really understand completely here. If evolution is no longer a thing, then how are you going to play as an evolved Pokemon? Will we be able to just choose any of the Pokemon from each family from the menu (Ex. Morph Menu: Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, etc), will we only have the choice to pick the final evolutions and go from there (Ex. Morph Menu: Venusaur, Blastoise, Charizard, etc), or will we be able to just chose the first Pokemon in each evolution line and just evolve from there?
They're Unowns. I'm pretty sure they won't need a larger movepool just because of this.
The only baby Pokemon I can see being capable of using a shield are Togepi, Bonsly, Munchlax, and Wynaut. All of the rest don't seem to be defensive.
its been liek 2 months since someone last maed one wtf du u guise care about this gam at all
we got ppl liek dertev and saik wurkkin hard on models and we got doosh phags liek dr not doin shet
mak sum moar valus u kraps
lol what has dr done anything for the new game at all yet?
He made like five values and that's it.
Nuh. Making parts from other parts is equally, if not more time-consuming.
How long did it take you to make that Lunatone? Probably less than two minutes. Of course not all models are going to take a super quick amount of time to make. It's just that some of the designs of Pokemon are simplistic enough to just make super quickly solely because of this.
Actually, delt, maybe you can come up with designs of your own and show them to us in a drawing/model and maybe we can have an idea we can probably agree on.
What birds have you been seeing lately?
But yeah, models should take a lot less time to make now. Honestly, it seems to be a lot less troublesome than c-framing and jotting down mesh size values. No more need to go through a bunch of stupid random meshes where you can just use one single part.
